MISSION STATEMENT OF THE MIRACLE LEAGUE of Bradley County
Our Mission Is To:
- Provide opportunities for children with disabilities to play Miracle League baseball, regardless of their abilities.
- Promote community support and sponsorship of Miracle Leagues.
- Promote the construction of special facilities that meet the unique needs of Miracle League players and their families.
We cannot change or cure the medical issues life has dealt children with disabilities.
What we can do is provide them with an opportunity to experience the joy and
benefits that come from playing our National pastime and other sports.
The Dream
The Dream for the Miracle League of Bradley County (MLBC) is to be self sufficient in order to provide the best of different sports and activities that will enhance the lives of every member of our community. The Miracle League of Bradley County will provide sports opportunities for members of our community with disabilities to participate in all year round. We want to foster involvement not only from Bradley County but invite all surrounding communities to come participate, volunteer, and donate to make our park a national destination and leader in providing athletics for people with disabilities.
MLBC plans on starting our journey by seeking the community’s helps in first providing the actual sports. The first Fall Baseball Miracle League of Bradley County was held at Blue Springs Ball Field this year. The Fall Baseball season ran from Sept.-Oct. 2022. While continuing to provide more sports through out the year, we are working to raise money to build a Miracle League Baseball Field and complex that will be designed for anyone and everyone with a disability to play sports on. The baseball field will include an inclusive playground so every member of the community can come and have fun together and be able to access the entire playground no matter what their disability is. We have taken inspiration from other parks around the nation and once the baseball field is complete, we plan on working on a multi-purpose field that will be used for Basketball, Soccer, Field hockey and any other sports. Eventually we would like to see a splash pad and picnic pavilions added to the complex.
The complex is envisioned to have the baseball field with playground. A multi-use field and sensory garden wrapped with a walking path followed by a splash pad and picnic pavilions. The idea is to have all these facilities built so that anyone can use them from our county or surrounding ones.
